The purpose of collecting personal data in the register is to organise the educational and event activities of Kansan Sivistystyön Liitto KSL ry and KSL Study Centre (hereinafter referred to as “KSL”) and to respond to orders for material as well as related development work, communication and financial management. Personal data can be processed for profiling purposes in the targeting of marketing and communications according to a person’s preferences.

The provision of personal information is based on the law (Act on Liberal Adult Education 632/1998) or on the person’s consent or agreement.

We use cookies on our website to provide the best possible user experience and to analyse the use of the site. We also use Google Analytics visitor tracking, which tracks personal traffic on our website. We use the data in the development of the site. We do not use cookies to collect personal data or other sensitive data, and we never forward personal data to third parties, such as advertising networks, without the consent of the data subject. Personal data to be processed

Information is only collected from individuals inasmuch as KSL needs it to organise its operations and services. The information collected is information related to registration, orders and the completion of courses: mainly the person’s first and last name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address and any special needs (e.g. diet), invoicing information and information related to payments and debt collection. Study and degree information is also collected in the register from those enrolled in vocational training.

Regular sources of information

The register is based on the information provided by the persons themselves (KSL education and event registrations, subscription to the newsletter, subscription to publications, website maintenance) and cooperation agreements (collaboratively organised education, custom training). Participant information is collected separately for each event.

Register protection principles and storage

Personal data is mainly stored in various electronic systems/cloud services (Microsoft Office 365, Primus, Webropol, EmCe). The information stored in our register is protected using the latest information security technology. Access to electronic systems is protected with personal usernames and passwords. Register data is only processed by those employees whose job description includes this. The prerequisite for the right of use is an employment relationship or internship contract with KSL, and its scope depends on the person’s role in the organisation.

The register data of the education organised in cooperation is stored in KSL’s electronic education management system (KSL-koti) which operates on a server of HCI Productions Oy.

The register information of the newsletter subscribers is stored on the servers of Liana Technologies Oy as the service provider.

The manual material is kept in a locked space.

The storage of the register data and the storage periods are based on the legislation governing KSL’s operations. Data on students and customers who order materials is deleted annually. The personal data of newsletter subscribers is kept for the duration of the subscription. Every newsletter has an “Unsubscribe from the newsletter” link.

Regular transfers of data and transfers outside the EU or EEA

Personal data will not be disclosed to any outside parties. On the servers of the electronic systems, the data is stored in the EU and is not transferred outside the EU or the EEA. Each service provider is responsible for the guarding, monitoring and encryption of the servers. The data systems are updated regularly.

Right of inspection and correction and other rights related to the processing of personal data

Registered persons have the right to check what information concerning them has been stored in the register and to demand the correction of any incorrect information in the register.
